The brand new head of Virginia’s info know-how company is leaving after working lower than a month within the place.
Phil Wittmer, who was tapped by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) to be the chief info officer on the Virginia Data Applied sciences Company (VITA), is stepping down from his publish, a Youngkin aide confirmed to The Hill on Friday.
It was not instantly clear why Wittmer was leaving. The Richmond Occasions-Disptach first reported of Wittmer’s departure. The Hill has reached out to VITA and Youngkin’s workplace for additional remark.
Between July 2015 and February 2018, Wittmer had served as Kansas’s chief info know-how officer, Authorities Know-how journal reported. Wittmer labored in non-public sector info know-how for over 20 years and had returned to non-public sector work after resigning from his position in Kansas.
